Why does God look down from heav’n
At skylarks and think to Himself
I made thee, I formed thee, I birthed thee?

Why does God look down from heav’n
At the miracle that man made called nuclear
And speak to Michael thus:

They will no longer believe in me,
Their majesty of enchantment has been ripped
For in desirousness to be man, they attained SOL

Why does God look down from heav’n
Those steely eyes and furrowed brows enraged
At the abuse of man, the Sodomite and Ninevite?

Why does God look down from heav’n
Between the forest rows grown in hedges
To see the outline of forgotten civilizations?

Why does God look down from heav’n
And, whispering to the Theotokos
Beholds, through the eyes of a man,

The eternal Adam, the patriarch completed,
By self defined, sees the next eternal flow,
And, knows Himself, why He looked down from heav’n.
